An architectural practice for the built environment, conducts pragmatic and earnest compositions through an adaptive process of engagement with clients, planning authorities, geographical, cultural and technical requirements.

Jon Hellowell's practice is focused around domestic contexts, for him these are the most personal and emotional architectural projects. His aim is to reveal something unique about the environment of a project to excite the client and create a genuine process of exchange. He studied the Bachelor of Science Architecture at Newcastle University where he gained a broad base of knowledge and was struck by the importance of a full understanding of the building process. Thus, he decided to complete his bachelor of construction management and worked in various roles within the industry before joining a small architectural practice in Sydney for several years. During this time he also completed his Masters of Architecture at the University of New South Wales, and worked as a tutor for undergraduate courses. In the broader context Jon has managed teams during the execution of a wide range of project types, and his holistic engagement with architecture has ranged from small scale furniture in existing spaces to new structures on undeveloped sites.
